 OUR VOLUNTEERS

Zach Dix

Volunteer

I graduated from the University of Colorado in Boulder Colorado in May of 2014 with a degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. My research background is in animal behavior, specifically in working with different ant species. I am in Bolivia for three months working with the BolivianAmphibian Initiative and gaining valuable biological experience in conservation practices. My duties here include helping with the day to day activities of the captive breeding program whileworking on my own projects to help to diversify the diets of the captive frogs and to improve the initiative´s website. I also have the chance to help with the initiative´s research on Telmatobius culeus in Lake Titicaca. Volunteering with the Bolivian Amphibian Initiative is a wonderful opportunity for a budding biologist, or anyone with an interest in conservation to learn the ropes of captive breeding, research, and independent project construction.
